We are looking for a highly motivated Finance Associate /Controller to join our fast-growing biotech company in Hungary. In this role, you will work closely with the CFO and leadership team, supporting financial planning, controlling, business analysis, and investor reporting.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building structure in a dynamic environment, takes ownership, and wants to contribute to the growth of an early stage life sciences company.
Role Overview
Controlling & Financial Analysis
Track budgets across departments, projects, and cost centers
Own regular plan-versus-actual analyses and explain key variances
Support budget updates, adjustments, and reforecasting processes
Maintain and improve internal controlling tools, systems, and reporting processes
Business Planning & Financial Modeling
Support business planning, forecasting, and financial model updates
Monitor cash burn and regularly update runway analyses
Prepare financial scenarios to support management decision-making
Help translate operational plans into financial forecasts and budgets
Market Research & Strategic Analysis
Conduct market research to support strategic planning, fundraising, and business development
Build and update market models, benchmarks, and competitive analyses
Support ad hoc strategic finance projects as needed
Board & Investor Reporting
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial and business reports for the Board
Support the preparation of investor materials, presentations, and fundraising-related analyses
Prepare ad hoc materials for Board meetings and management discussions
Ensure reporting is accurate, clear, and delivered on time
Required qualifications
Solid finance and accounting knowledge
2–3 years of relevant experience in a high-paced environment, ideally in startups, life sciences, biotech, consulting, or venture-backed companies
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Preferred knowledge
Experience with automation tools, AI, or finance process optimization is a plus
